This is a very nice portrait. I like the cropping, colors and posture of the model. Also, in a portrait like this I would expect the model to have her eyes open. The picture might be better with it, but it is perhaps now more original and interesting. That being said I would love to see a version with opened eyes, with perhaps a locally boosted contrast and brightness. I do have a small reservation regarding the technique. The noise present throughout the image is quite distracting. It is visible even in a small crop. If it was added in post-processing, I think image would do without it. If it is in-camera, perhaps applying less aggressive noise filter would deliver better results.

All in all a picture with a couple of technical issues, but overall a very good portrait.

Firstly I must say this is a beautiful image. A striking subject to be sure, but what makes the shot so stunning is the unifying elements. Her hair, freckles, and skin tone are complimented nicely by the background colour. The continuity of freckles and the blurred almost pixleated effect in the background makes the subject seem part of her environment rather than simply posed in front of it. She is framed beautifully by the out-of-focus backdrop and the softness of the fall of her hair, more so due to the shared pallet between them. The overall effect of the implies background gives the subject a contrasting definition; her lips, the line of her jaw, combined with the dark of her top present her as the focal point as definitavely as a marble bust. The closed eyes, parted lips and tilted head also deliver the image in a very feminine way. Masterfully done, thank you for posting this.
